California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) love to lay on the rocks and the docs while they are visiting Yaquina Bay. Port Dock One is the main place to see them up-close. Adult and sub-adult sea lion males can be found on the docs. They live here for 11 months out of the year. In July they migrate to the Channel Islands of southern California where the females stay year-round. Voted best Free tourist attraction in Newport!
